The car’s first owner was Len Newman of Upminster, Essex, who worked for Fords at Dagenham and bought it as a retirement present for himself. However, after driving 3,500 miles in 5 years, he could not justify keeping it and asked Brands Hatch Morgans to sell it for him.

A Morgan was top of our classic car wishlist, a chance visit to BHM resulted in our buying it in November 2004 and they have looked after the car for us ever since.

We have added over 50,000 miles, and although it is kept in a dry, heated garage under a soft, green cover, (Diana says that some wives and children don’t have such luxury!) it is regularly used for holidays to France and numerous other outings. As members of the French Morgan owners’ club, we have twice been invited to show it as part of the club’s display at Chantilly Arts and Elegance event. We have also enjoyed it on numerous Goodwood track days and 2 visits to Classic Le Mans, where we have used the car to take VIPs around the circuit. In 2019 we entered the Bo’Ness Jim Clark Run rally in the Scottish borders and won the prize for the furthest travelled entrant. Our Mog has also been chosen twice for exhibition at the NEC Classic Car Show.

The car has become a member of the family, our daughter has forbidden us to sell it as she regards it as part of her inheritance! She is now old enough to have driven it at Goodwood on Brands Hatch Morgans’ track day and is starting to get some practice in, though hopefully it will be a while before the car is hers!
